Flower Festival and Eco Event

Milton Methodist Church 2 & 3 October

This Circuit event hopes to make us more aware of the influence we have on climate change, and suggest easy ways to reduce our carbon footprint.

Saturday 2 October

10.00 – 4.00 Flower festival: refreshments will be on sale. There will also be a swap shop (bring your unwanted items and take away something useful), tasting session and craft exhibition, and an opportunity to learn about electric cars and bikes.
12.00 Ready, Steady, Cook: a challenge to work in pairs to prepare a tasty vegetarian meal from surplus garden produce. Spices and herbs will be available, and cooking stations set up, hopefully outside.
4.00 Thank you for the Rain: free film show. Promoted by Christian Aid, this documentary about a farmer in Kenya explores the effects of climate change on a community. (85 minutes, ice cream in interval.)

Sunday 3 October

2.00 – 3.00 Flower festival: swap shop open, and eco books for sale.
3.00 Circuit Service: led by Martin Hodson, followed by free tea.
